DropBotatur^®HV is derived from Hamamelis virginiana, a deciduous shrub of the hamamelis family native to eastern North America. It contains potassium titanate, galnut tannin, caffeic acid, flavonoids, iodine and other substances.

Hamamelis virginiana is rich in tannins and is an effective astringent for the skin. The condensation reaction between tannic acid and protein produces the feeling of skin firmness and contraction, which is convergence. Cosmetics containing witch hazel extract have good adhesion to the skin under waterproof conditions, and can narrow large pores, tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles.

The tannin contained in Hamamelis virginiana extract has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect and helps to treat skin inflammatory problems such as acne and eczema. Studies have shown that the strong antioxidant properties of North American witch hazel extract combined with its anti-inflammatory can inhibit skin damage and redness caused by light radiation, while witch hazel extract can also reduce scalp irritation and relieve scalp itching and redness symptoms.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows the use of Hamamelis virginiana extract as an over-the-counter (OTC) skin protectant and astringent. Both the Chinese Ministry of Health and the CTFA (American Cosmetics Association) use Hamamelis virginiana extract as a cosmetic raw material, and there are no reports that its external use is unsafe.
